1964-1978 : Early Career- Micheal started his career in 1964 alongside his four brothers as part of
the group The Jackson 5. The brothers performed and released several studio albums
from up until 1989.
1979-1984 : Transition to Solo Career- In October of 1979, Micheal released his first independent
album titled Off the Wall. By 1984, Micheal parted ways with the Jackson 5 in favor of
focusing on his path as a solo artist, liberating him from the pressure of the group.
1985-1993 : Early Activism- In 1985, Micheal helped write “We Are the World”, a charity record
that helped raise around $63 million for famine relief and humanitarian aid. Later in
1992, Jackson established the Heal the World Foundation to aid children in neglect.
1994-2001 : Continued Career- By the time he released his last album Invincible in 2001, Micheal
had received a total of 13 Grammy Awards and published a total of ten studio albums
totaling to 1 billion records sold. Around $300 million of such revenue went to charity.
2002-2009 : End of Life- By the end of his life, Micheal had fathered three children and amassed a
large estate under his name. In June of 2009, Micheal sadly passed of an overdose on
propofol, an anesthetic being administered to him for personal medical care.
